In the heart of Patria Palace, a new sanctuary of wellness is taking shape: Idume Spa, a place where nature, history, and inner balance meet. Named after Lecce’s underground river, the spa is designed to offer a profound sensory journey deeply rooted in the territory.
Inspiration from beneath the surface
“We wanted to create a spa that was more than a relaxing space, one that spoke to the essence of Lecce,” says Alessandra, Spa Manager at Patria Palace.
The Idume river, silent yet vital, became the symbol of this vision. Travertine, marble and natural stone evoke the landscape shaped by water. Heated pools recall ancient ablution rituals, while water features, saunas and steam rooms embody the natural flow of warmth and renewal.
A tribute to Salento’s identity
The story of Idume is a story of deep connection: between water and land, between past and present. “Our goal was to create a spa that would narrate the essence of Salento through rituals, materials and atmosphere.” The result is an immersive experience, where every detail tells a part of the region’s story.

Guests can choose from the iconic Salento ritual, the citrus-inspired treatment evoking Southern coastlines, or the Desert ritual with warm notes of incense and myrrh.
